Harvest Immersion with Gilles de Chambure, MS

For Meadowood guests wishing for more than an insider tip about where to find actively crushing wineries on a given harvest day, Master Sommelier Gilles de Chambure, is available by advanced reservation to spend a full day accompanying guests to harvesting wineries with an elegant wine country picnic mid-day.

Gilles' presence offers a daylong series of special access opportunities, including personal introductions to winery owners, private, behind-the-scenes tours of areas of the wineries not accessible to the public, special tastings of wines pulled from secret racks and very often an invitation into vintners' homes when located on site.

Mustard Festival Grand Dinner

The 17th annual Napa Valley Mustard Festival's Grand Dinner is scheduled at Brix Restaurant in Yountville on February 19, 2010 at 6 p.m. Anne Gingrass-Paik, executive chef at Brix, and Julianne Laks, Cakebread Cellars winemaker, will host a stellar lineup of chefs and winemakers at the gala dinner, including our own Chef Christopher Kostow.

The full line-up, preparing seven delectable courses, includes: Ken Frank, executive chef/owner, La Toque; Greg Cole, executive chef/owner, Cole's Chop House; Jeff Jake, executive chef, Farm at the Carneros Inn; Christopher Kostow, chef, The Restaurant at Meadowood; Richard Reddington, executive chef/owner, Redd; and Danielle Brocious, pastry chef, Brix. Paired with the meal and presented by the winemakers will be wines from Blackbird Vineyards, Cakebread, CADE Winery, Chateau Montelena, Domaine Carneros, Dominus Estate, Etude, Nickel and Nickel and Dolce.
